Jörgen Lantto
Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer and Strategy
On July 23, 2009 Jörgen Lantto was appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and head of Strategy at ST-Ericsson.
Prior to this position, Mr. Lantto was Senior Vice President, head of Mobile Platforms and CTO of ST-Ericsson since the company was established in February 2009.
Mr. Lantto joined Ericsson in 1984 where, until 1999, he worked in research and development as well as product management of 1G, 2G and 3G. Between 1996 and 1998, he was responsible for setting up and managing Ericsson's 3G activities in Japan.
Mr. Lantto served as co-founder and senior partner of Northstream, a management consultant firm, and then as Chief Executive Officer of Alice Systems, an applications company, from 1999 to 2003.
Returning to Ericsson in 2003, he was appointed Vice President, Strategic Product Management at Ericsson Mobile Platforms. In 2007, Ericsson established its Business Unit Multimedia and Mr. Lantto was appointed Vice President, Systems Management, and a year later Vice President, Portfolio Management and Technology, a position he held until joining ST-Ericsson.
Jörgen Lantto was born in Övertorneå, Sweden, in 1963.
