General Description

The Aero4229 is a dual-mode HSPA/EDGE transceiver for mobile handsets, supporting tri-band HSPA and quad-band EDGE operation. In addition to the 850,900, 1800 and 1900 MHz bands for EDGE, the Aero4228 supports WCDMA bands I-VI and VIII-X. Typical WCDMA combinations are bands I, II and V together; bands I and VII together or bands II, IV and V together.

No inter-stage SAW filters are required for either WCDMA transmit or receive. Together with on-chip LNAs for both EDGE and HSPA, RX and TX synthesizers with fully integrated loop filters, DC-DC converter and LDO voltage regulators, the Aero4229 provides the level of integration necessary for handset manufacturers to implement a 3G mobile terminal with a small PCB footprint and low bill of materials (BOM). Moreover, the Aero4229 is manufactured in CMOS technology, enabling our customers to reap economies of scale in this readily available process technology.
