The NovaThor L8580 is world’s first mobile platform using ST’s advanced FD-SOI technology process which boosts performance and enables ultra-low power consumption. NovaThor L8580 combines a super-fast application processor with a state-of-the-art LTE/HSPA+/TD-SCDMA multimode modem in a single die.
The platform incorporates a CPU running at 2.5GHz with a powerful graphics engine, an LTE multimode modem and a full suite of connectivity in a high-performance, low-power and size and cost-optimized solution. With up to 17 bands in the same device and a single radio for Carrier Aggregation the L8580 addresses device manufacturers’ needs for a simple and cost effective solution to build global LTE smartphones with the smallest number of manufacturing variants.
