USB Hub Controllers
Our Hi-Speed USB hub controllers are single-chip, full hardware hubs with configurable ports.
These highly integrated controllers include a high-performance USB transaction translator, a serial interface engine (SIE), and a transceiver. The ISP1520 has four downstream configurable ports; the ISP1521 has from four to seven. Each port has a status indicator.
The ISP1520 and ISP1521 are full hardware USB hub controllers. All Original USB devices connected to the downstream facing ports are handled using a single transaction translator (based on a proprietary algorithm), when operating in a cross-version environment. This allows the whole 480 Mbit/s upstream bandwidth to be shared by all the Original USB devices on its downstream facing ports.
Our hubs are suitable for self-powered hub designs.
Applications for the ISP1520 and ISP1521 include docking stations for notebooks, internal hubs on USB motherboards, monitor hubs, and hubs for extending legacy-free PCs and hub boxes.
