Connectivity

ST-Ericsson is a leading provider of connectivity solutions to the mobile market. We were one of the creators of Bluetooth and led the proliferation of FM and USB in mobile devices. Our Wi-Fi solutions have been in production with several major handset OEMs since 2006. ST-Ericsson has also the longest heritage of GPS technology being first to integrate a Bluetooth, FM Radio and GPS combo in 40 nm and on LTE enabled devices. Our solutions come fully pre-integrated, validated and qualified within our platforms, but are also available as standalone components.

LOWEST POWER CONSUMPTION FOR ALWAYS-ON CONNECTIVITY

Designing a connectivity product for ultra-low power consumption, regardless of in active-, low power- or OFF mode, is fundamental for a long battery life. Users don’t want to switch the connectivity technologies ON and OFF. An “always ON” model provides a better user experience and this generates strict requirements on battery consumption. ST-Ericsson has an excellent track record on delivering world class power efficiency for connectivity chipsets. Our connectivity products use the latest silicon technology nodes allowing the lowest voltage operation for the core IPs.
